Depart Auckland and travel north over the Harbor Bridge past the sprawling suburbs of the North Shore. Travel through Northland’s lush farmland scenery before arriving into the beautiful Bay of Islands. Experience spectacular scenery as you cruise through game fishing waters to Cape Brett and, weather permitting, through the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’. The return cruise to Paihia meanders through picturesque islands; see deserted sandy beaches and secluded bays and keep your eyes peeled for the marine life.

Today your choice of sightseeing: go on a dolphin-watching cruise; a day of sailing aboard a historic tall ship; enjoy wine tasting in Kerikeri or join a Russell Mini Tour and learn a little more about the settling of the Bay of Islands.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in the Bay of Islands before you travel back to Auckland. Our journey south takes us to Whangarei, the northern-most city in New Zealand, where you can wander around the art galleries and through the marina in the Town Basin. Later, enjoy a stop at Parry Kauri Park and take a walk among New Zealand’s native forest giants, the Kauri trees. This evening join your Travel Director for a Regional Meal at ‘Eight’ at The Langham. Your personal degustation is prepared for you from the freshest, quality ingredients, including mouth-watering seafood and delicious desserts.

After a sightseeing tour of Auckland, head south to visit the amazing Glow Worm Grotto. A Local Specialist will lead you through the grotto by boat and you’ll walk in the limestone caves. Continue to Rotorua. Tonight experience a Maori Hangi feast Regional Meal and concert at the Tamaki Family Marae.

View Huka Falls and drive along the shores of Lake Taupo. Discover the alpine scenery of Mt. Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park and the dairy farms of Manawatu. The historic villa’s owners, Simon and Claudia, will show you around their property, which includes a unique private collection of Harley Davidson motor cycles. Take a short tour to see the local wildlife then continue to Wellington.

Your day starts with a journey along the Waitaki River, and a photo stop at the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme and Benmore Dam. Travel through to the township of Oamaru with its famous white limestone buildings and then on to Dunedin. This afternoon your choice of sightseeing: tour Larnach Castle, New Zealand’s only castle; ride the historic Taieri Gorge Railway; take the Monarch Wildlife Cruise or a tour of Speight’s Brewery.

This morning enjoy a chance to explore Dunedin. You’ll be awe-struck by the magnificence of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park. Your cruise on mystical Milford Sound will take you past Bowen Falls and Mitre Peak. Afterwards, travel over the Devil’s Staircase, along the shores of Lake Wakatipu on your way to Queenstown.

Today your choice of sightseeing: ride the Shotover Jet boat, visit a high country farm; ride gondola to the Skyline Restaurant for dinner; visit Kiwi Birdlife Park or take a 4WD minibus excursion through Skippers Canyon. This evening cruise across Lake Wakatipu aboard New Zealand’s oldest steamship, the TSS Earnslaw, to Walter Peak High Country Farm for a gourmet barbecue Regional Meal at the Colonel’s Homestead. Then enjoy an entertaining after-dinner farm show providing a glimpse into high-country farm life.
